A nationwide Breast Cancer Awareness Month promotion begins on October 1
LAKE MILLS - September 5, 2006 – Every two minutes, a woman in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2005, over 211,000 women learned they had breast cancer, 1,300 men got the same news, and more than 40,000 people died from the disease. Breast cancer death rates have thankfully been decreasing due to early detection and improved treatment, making it especially important for us to continue to get the message out and educate the public.
During Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October 2006), Vision Fitness and the American Cancer Society® are making it easy for consumers to stay healthy while, at the same time, helping others in the fight against breast cancer through their Pink Ribbon Campaign.
